‘Start the Week’ Surf Report

A week of wind and waves with showers and sunshine will have us running from beach to beach to check conditions, or at least checking our ‘phones and pads for condition reports.
But overall it’s promising to be a Harlyn kind of week, those sou’ westerly winds at least trying to be kind to the little waves that manage to travel all the way around the headland and into the bay. We should see the wave size getting up to three or maybe even just about four feet as the week rolls along, the tide playing important part in timing the best of conditions.
But overall, we should end up enjoying a fun week of dumping little waves at Harlyn, normally our Winter ‘go to’ spot.

Forecasts and charts are showing we might see a little increase in swell size during this afternoon’s rising tide which will be welcome to those looking for waves that are a little more testing to ride. It is all mild enough but otherwise there is that threat of a downpour or two lurking in the grey.

This south westerly wind is offshore at a very grey Harlyn this morning, helping to nicely shape those little waves as they spill into Harlyn at just about high tide. There’s only a foot or so of spilling little waves right now but that should build on the incoming tide this afternoon.

Surf schools and youngsters alike are going to be loving the small but clean little surf at Harlyn today but it is likely to be only very small for most of the time!

Stay safe, stay happy, stay well and have a great week, wherever you are and whatever you’re doing!
