Constantine (1*):  4 feet

at 6.45 a.m. on Wednesday 11th September 2024

Well, yesterday’s downpours have shuffled away to leave some hint at brighter streaks amongst the continuing greyness.
That north westerly wind continues to blow cold air down the coast though, chopping and trashing maybe four feet and bigger of already messed up junk surf.
None of it looks good, the only chance of any clean surf being that far coast again today – if it’s big enough!

Harlyn (1*):  3 feet

Onshore winds are blasting into Harlyn as well this morning, those north westerly winds blowing the detritus of summer visitors into the catching corners of the bay.
Three or maybe four feet of already broken and blown-out surf is being trashed even more by those gusting winds, leaving the idea of surfing to blow in the wind.
South Coast anyone?

Today’s Tide Times:

Low Tide:   17:05  (2.8m)                High Tide:    10:40  (5.7m)

Surf Forecast for Thursday 12th September 2024

North Westerly winds will continue to trash the surf all along this coast, keeping temperatures down while wrecking the surf.
The weather will be a mix of autumnal sunshine and heavy showers – not exactly the day for nestling down at the beach, although sea temperatures are maintaining a 17degC high.
It looks like another south coast day for surf!

Surf Conditions for the Rest of the Week

Another mixed up week of mixed up surf is going to be driven our way by onshore winds this week.
Temperatures are likely to stay low as mainly north westerly winds bring that cold air down the coast to blow-out the already wishy washy and weak windswell.
If we want cleaner waves this week we will probably have to travel over to the far coast but that’s not guaranteed to produce anything bigger than small waves, there are no obvious swell generators out in that Atlantic, at least not yet.
But we all hold memories of special September swells to play back and the traditionally best month of surf in this region is nowhere near over yet!
Stay safe, stay happy, stay well and have a great week, wherever you are and whatever you’re doing!
