Constantine (3*): 8 to 10 feet
Big waves are booming into the bays on this brighter, calmer and much more pleasant morning than expected, double overhead bombs thundering into a light offshore, south easterly breeze.
The high tide is absorbing a whole lot of energy from those sizeable waves but they still look heavy, the dropping tide promising some excitement for those interested.
But remember, there are no lifeguards on the beach at present so, if in doubt – don’t go out!
I’m away for a week or two so no surf report for a while!
Harlyn (3*): 4 feet
High tide at Harlyn is absorbing a lot of energy from the four feet plus of lumping swell that’s marching in this morning, the hazy blue sky and almost still conditions making it all look very nice indeed.
As the tide drops things will get spicier with those cosy Harlyn close-outs firing up and testing your board’s glass strength.
As always, we can expect the odd reeling peeler to scream to the beach, as hollow as a drain pipe and as fast as a train. But you’re going to have to choose them carefully if you don’t want a drubbing today!
Today’s Tide Times:
Low Tide: 14:44 (1.7m) High Tide: 20:36 (6.7m)
Surf Forecast for Tuesday 8th October 2024
Those low pressure systems continue to queue up orderly to slingshot plenty of swell our way this week, the predicted winds keeping us guessing where might be best to surf for most of this week.
Big, big waves will kick the week off with calm and clean winds allowing our main surf breaks to show off Harlyn offering something calmer for those who’d rather it.
The swell is likely to have dropped a lot by Tuesday, the wind maybe just hanging in offshore at the main breaks, Harlyn running a little smaller than we’d prefer.
And then the wind goes northerly. And that is not good anywhere along this coast – unless you enjoy surfing four to six feet of bumpy and choppy waves?
Stay safe, stay happy, stay well and have a great week, wherever you are and whatever you’re doing!
I’m away for a week or two so no surf report for a while!
